Isola : Luminous Wayfinding

The Isola lamp, meaning “island” in Italian, was designed specifically for Gare du Nord. Initially conceived as poles and wall-mounted fixtures to mark thresholds and pathways, it evolved into a much more minimalist and easily deployable form, serving as a luminous chevron for wayfinding. Its purpose is not to illuminate but to guide and signal. Inspired by the reuse of glass insulators, it is crafted from machined steel components and features a Light Emitting Diode (LED).
