AREP has worked with SNCF Gares & Connexions and the municipality of Paris to develop an environmental transition strategy. The EMC2B principles are implemented at the scale of each of the six major Parisian stations.

AREP has developed with SNCF Gares & Connexions and the City of Paris a transition strategy for the major Parisian stations.

In line with the expectations of the Climate action plan of the City of Paris and in anticipation of the future bioclimatic land-use plan, the atlas is the result of a multidisciplinary AREP-wide reflection on the future of the capital’s stations that revolves around three themes: energy & carbon, green spaces, and albedo.

Using a time-phased approach AREP has identified the major structural actions that will help reduce the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions of Parisian stations on the one hand and, on the other, will help adapt train stations to climate change, whose impact can be already experienced (urban heat island effect, erosion of biodiversity, increased flooding and natural risks, etc.).

The atlas will be published, and a dedicated digital monitoring tool will be developed.
