Maintenance Center, Dijon
In the heart of the Dijon-Perrigny railway site, the new maintenance workshop embodies the alliance between technical performance and environmental responsibility.
Located in the heart of the Perrigny railway marshalling yard and workshops, the Dijon-Perrigny facility combines practicality with sustainability. The project involves the construction of a new workshop with two tracks dedicated to the maintenance of regional TER trains. A new two-story building providing office functions was then added alongside the workshop. Soon, new infrastructure will be built to provide storage space. The challenge for the AREP Group teams was to create a cohesive ensemble from these elements and give it its own identity.
To combine usability with environmental responsibility, trees were planted near the workshop while maintaining a safe distance from the tracks. Infrastructure equipment was renovated to reduce energy consumption. Both the workshop and the office building are now equipped with photovoltaic panels, which will, among other things, provide hot water. Train washing will be carried out using a system that collects and reuses rainwater.
• Photovoltaic panels (414 m²) / solar thermal panels (40 m²) contributing to the supply of a 100% electric heating system (heat pump that will also provide cooling for the offices).
• Timber-frame wall with straw-based bio-sourced insulation (exclusion of fiberglass insulation).

• The green roof on the annex building, along with landscaped green areas, helps reduce the urban heat island effect.
