TGV maintenance Technicentre in Lyon

The 33,000 m² building, built to maintain a fleet of 60 TGV trainsets, comprises a 6-track workshop with inspection wells for preventive maintenance, specialised workshops, a 3-track building for heavy maintenance, a parts store, an axle depot, a crane and maintenance-well lifting equipment, and an administration building, etc.
The design of the Technicentre was dictated by three major concerns:
- optimise operation in a very cramped railway environment;
- take the urban environment into account in the building;
- integrate eco-design principles such as the search for energy savings combined with user comfort.
