Chengdu Museum : AREP is the winner

Situated in the heart of the new administrative city, the project reflects a will of urban and landscaped development of the city of Chengdu. Spaces receiving the general public appear in a soft route at three dimensions, kind of climbing ribbon makes of banisters and staircases. Swivelling shutters compose the main facades of the museum and allow in spring and autumn the opening of the internal spaces on the city. This device assures a natural ventilation five months in the year. Several restaurants, houses of tea of which the "canteen of the town planners" and live a big roof with vegetation open to the public. On the northwest angle rises the tower intended to welcome the offices of the service of municipal town planning.
