AREP wins Cité des Sciences competition

AREP wins architectural competition to remodel Paris Cité des Sciences At the end of a 15-month consultation process initially involving ten agencies, AREP has won the competition to renovate reception areas at the La Villette Cité des Sciences et de L'Industrie in Paris, which ranks as France's fourth biggest museum by visitor numbers.
The renovation project is a comprehensive programme which also involves remodelling the North forecourt, some of the access to the Geode cinema in the southern part of the site, and all the Cité's common and service areas, for a total of 3 hectares of recomposed external areas and 7,500m² of interior remodelling (reception and ticketing areas, shop, main entrance hall and atrium). The prime contractor's contract awarded to AREP also includes design of furnishings and signage.
