Building engineering

Capabilities: structural design, MEP, acoustic design, specialist lighting design, fire engineering, environmental engineering

AREP has a team of civil engineer designers who share the goals of the project and contribute to developing it by pooling their respective skills: perception of the issues at all levels, and overall understanding of the concept developed. The different engineering sectors are grouped together in a common skills and resources platform.

Combining skills
On every project, regardless of its scale, all these different engineering skills come together, from civil engineering to flow management, climate control, acoustics and lighting design, security and more. The art of building and outfitting makes use of a steadily expanding portfolio of technical competencies: generating heat and cold, delivering light, controlling sound levels (not only to minimise noise but also to broadcast messages), welcoming and guiding, etc. The need to provide safety and comfort contributes to governing the shape to be created.
AREP composes its buildings by playing on the entire scale of engineering skills in order to attune technologies to programmes. Added to the technologies habitually united in the design process is environmental expertise, without which it is not possible to build economically and sustainably.

Competences and creativity
As a multi-disciplinary research structure, AREP reconciles the two generally dissociated approaches of architectural composition and civil engineering in a single creative impulse. The approach used and the resources deployed constitute a guarantee of programme effectiveness and consistency for customers and project managers who are seeking skills and creativity.
